Ottawa-based singer/songwriter Rory Taillon is a road warrior, touring across the country and back again. He has the soul of the East coast but the sound of the West in his songs. His latest album, ‘Only Whispers’ is the work of a one man Wintersleep, a one man Tea Party, a one man Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, with a voice to match the majesty of the Rockies. He is a classically trained singer, a multi-instrumentalist and vocally can turn his hand to a variety of genres. The acoustic is for touring, there’s only so much room in a civic for gear, merch and that voice, that voice needs its own tour bus. Its a band unto itself.
Savannah Shea is a Kingston raised singer, songwriter and performer. She got her start performing at open mics, where she workshopped original material and developed a solo set. She worked for three years collaborating with many of the wonderful musicians that Kingston has to offer, exploring blues, jazz, folk, pop, funk and more. Savannah is currently living in Toronto, studying voice at Humber College. She is inspired to sing by powerful and honest voices including Amy Winehouse, Adele, Etta James, Eva Cassidy, Sarah Harmer, Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, Yebba and Beyonce. Savannah’s original music combines the wordplay or her favourite hip hop artists, the poetry of her folk heroes, and the honesty of a Capricorn. She looks forward to continuing to grow as an artist in Toronto, and seeks to empower people, especially women, through her music, art and style.
