Originally from Newfoundland, galaa has been said to conjure ambient patters with a post-rock feel that “shakes their dance-pop foundation” (Exclaim!) Having recently completed an album that lingers more in the electro-pop world, galaa’s lead singer and songwriter aley waterman has started up a new incarnation of this project in toronto with some of her cutest musical pals, including steven foster, sam gleason, and johnny spence! fun! if galaa’s sound had a favourite beverage it would probably be a purple grape beverage with little bubbles in it and a light blue straw! feel?
Blunt Chunks aka Caitlin Woelfle-O’Brien is a project born out of the curiosity of the endless world of sound. With pop sensibility, soulful joy and ambient tones, Caitlin experiments with songwriting and sound making. Her sound has been described as “music to keep close to your heart”, “electronic Dolly Parton” “mermaid folk” and “angelic”. Caitlin is unabashed and open hearted as a performer, shameless and honest. Catch her on her exploration towards euphoria.
