British-born, Canadian-raised singer songwriter Michelle Willis started out as a graduate from the jazz program at Toronto’s Humber College, performing weekly at local piano bars around town. Since then, while balancing her solo project and a short stint with the modern roots trio Three Metre Day, she has amassed an impressive resume as a keyboard player and back up singer with the likes of Rock n' Roll hall-of-famer David Crosby, Snarky Puppy, Zac Brown Band, Becca Stevens, Royal Wood, Peter Katz, Parachute Club, and Iggy & The Stooges, no less. Her debut solo album See Us Through was released on GroundUP Records / Universal, and features stacks of warm vocals reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, and Eva Cassidy. Willis’ writing style of rich harmony and cut-to-the-heart lyrics has earned her the title of one of David Crosby’s favourite songwriters, who says she “sounds like God on a good day”.
