Born in tornado alley, raised between mountains in Montana, and now residing in Toronto, Rachael Cardiello sings of cross-border living, mental institutions, love, ghosts, and an eclectic history of homes in an alternative version of the American dream. This is a genre-crossing music. It is an orchestral, full-throttle dance party with the intimate counterpoint of chamber music. It is old time rock and roll with classic harmonies and a wall of sound. It is heartfelt and honest with all the extremes. Bold, intimate and fierce.
LUKA is the recording project of Toronto Artist Luke Kuplowsky and his friends. Caught between the rush of pure pop and the calm of meditative folk, LUKA is sincere romance music that is thoughtful and immediate. His latest work, Summon Up A Monkey King (Yellow K Records), is a series of gentle mediations on love guided by flamenco tinged nylon string guitar and supported by electric flourishes, meditative drumming and doo-wop influenced harmony vocals.
