Badge Époque features Jay Anderson, Chris Bezant, Alia O’Brien, & Giosue Rosati - a group of stalwart Toronto musicians performing new instrumental compositions written by Maximilian ‘Twig’ Turnbull (Darlene Shrugg, The Cosmic Range, U.S. Girls, formerly Slim Twig). Tight yet loose, Badge weave cerebral melodies through dense arrangements arriving at a particularly dank brand of funk.
Tony Price will also perform new work. A founding member of Actual Water, Price has more recently been producing pop oddities for Ice Cream and Miss World. He will debut further production based music here, with guests.
Long time Drag City songwriter Mike Donovan, drifting in from San Francisco for the evening opens the night. As Sic Alps, and more recently as Peacers he has authored some of the very best in mentally damaged rock and tape hiss. He rounds out an eclectic bill.
